On April 4, 2022, the Blackhawks celebrated 14-year captain Jonathan Toews’ milestone of 1,000 career games with a tribute befitting his legacy.
The event included a commemorative poster giveaway featuring a personal letter from Toews, a limited-edition 1,000th Game logo t-shirt, and an atrium installation spotlighting his career highlights. Fans could explore a “Road to 1,000 Games” exhibit featuring mementos, key moments, and a custom photo-op.
The art direction drew inspiration from Toews’ many achievements, represented by jersey patches he wore throughout his career—including the Captain’s “C,” six All-Star patches, three Stanley Cup patches, and the “Toews 1,000th Game” patch. These milestones were celebrated in the pre-game ceremony, which included a highlight video, tributes from Alternate Captains, and appearances by Toews’ family.
