In February 2023, the Blackhawks partnered with 19-year-old artist and West Side Chicago resident Tyrese Ingram to design a Black History Month warm-up jersey that celebrated unity and Black voices.
Working closely with Tyrese, I helped translate his concept into a cohesive vector design that became the foundation for the warm-up jerseys, retail collection, and overall art direction for the night. His artwork, titled “Standing Together,” used various shades of black to symbolize unity, with abstract lines representing a community coming together.
The design extended into a retail collection featuring Tyrese’s art, sold at the United Center and online. The jersey’s custom “BHM” lockup, also designed by Tyrese, was prominently displayed as a patch and in the event’s key art, amplifying the night’s celebration of Black excellence.
